Big news is coming.

Most of us remember being children and getting excited at Christmastime – all those wrapped presents, trying to guess what was in them by the shape and, when parents weren’t looking, by the rattling noise they made when you shook them. It’s definitely one of the best feelings there is.

But there is one better feeling – when you are a parent and have that same feeling in reverse – you know what’s in the box and you perhaps have even greater anticipation. The look of joy on their faces when they open the presents up (assuming they aren’t clothes, which are unceremoniously tossed aside) – well that feeling is truly the best feeling in the world.

I’m feeling a bit like Santa in October. Your credit union has some big announcements to make in the next few months, but I’m not quite at liberty to disclose them yet. I am sitting here on the edge of my seat waiting to see those presents unwrapped and doing my best not to give anything away too early.

This anticipation problem is why I think stockings were invented. They are presents basically out in the open, to relieve the anticipation a little bit. So, even though it’s not even Halloween yet, our board decided to put out a few stocking stuffers for members in celebration of our big (but still wrapped up) announcements. And, for the purposes of this analogy, the stocking stuffers are market crushing certificate rates. We raised rates on virtually every category, and if you are a Wealthcare member, you get an additional .50% premium. If you’re looking to give an inflation fighting gift to yourself, you can’t do too much better on cert rates than what we are offering right now.
