November is upon us – and there is no indication that this crazy year will go quietly into its old age. I can only comment on what’s going on with the credit union. . . for the rest of it, you’re on your own! At the credit union, our lobby is still open. Like everyone else, we’ve had a few scares. But, so far all of our employees have stayed healthy and our over abundance of caution has allowed us to keep serving our members with uninterrupted service.

This month we rolled out our Wealthcare checking. Embedded in that product (among other benefits) is an identity theft monitoring program. I could give you a few stories of how other members have already started to use this program, but I better share just my own. Within an hour of signing up for the program, I received a dark web alert. When I checked on the website, I got information showing that it was a breach from a social media company from a few years ago – only my name was compromised, so phew. So within just an hour of owning the program I, as a member, was already getting value from the account. No need for that credit monitoring program you hear and see tons of ads for anymore.

On another note, I have been getting lots of questions from members regarding our Shiloh branch. There are still some variables surrounding such a large project, so I don’t have any firm updates yet on an open date for you – I can tell you that it will be before the winter ends. Here’s to hoping that as Spring begins we can open that lobby up free of restrictions – and that all of 2021 will be a lot less insane than 2020 has been!
